Your Role
Do you want to do more than just operate GIS applications—you want to actively shape their future? As Application Manager / IT Business Analyst GIS (m/f/d), you’ll combine technical operational responsibility with business analysis and internal GIS consulting.
You’ll proactively engage with our operational departments, analyze business processes in the energy supply sector, and translate functional requirements into sustainable technical solutions. You’ll critically review existing workflows, prepare decision-making foundations, and guide GIS solutions from initial concept through integration to successful go-live.

Your Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis and Translation: Analyze requirements from operational departments and translate them into technical solutions, considering the existing system landscape and technical possibilities.
GIS Solution Design and Development: Conceptualize, design, and configure GIS infrastructures and applications—including supporting system consolidation, version upgrades, and the rollout of new solutions in areas such as workforce management, groundwater management, and mobile applications.
IT Solution Implementation and Integration: Develop and implement GIS-related IT solutions, integrating them with operational departments and external service providers into the existing system environment.
Operations and Service Quality Assurance: Ensure stable and seamless operation of our GIS-related business services and maintain high service quality in daily operations.
Collaboration and Interface Management: Coordinate cooperation with external service providers and other stakeholders, acting as the central point of contact between operational departments, IT, and project partners.
Innovation and Business Development: Evaluate new technologies and trends in the GIS field, identify optimization potential, and drive their adoption to sustainably advance and digitize business processes.
Your Profile
A completed degree in computer science, business informatics, geoinformatics, geodesy, or a related field forms the basis of your technical expertise. Alternatively, you may qualify with IT vocational training and relevant professional experience.
You bring several years of experience in application management, business analysis, IT consulting, or the operation and further development of GIS applications.
You excel at analyzing business requirements, understanding complex interrelationships, and deriving practical, user-centered technical solutions. You think process-oriented and always keep end-user benefits in focus.
You have experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders and guiding IT projects, working confidently at the interface between operational departments, IT, and external partners.
Personally, you demonstrate analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to align differing interests and co-develop sustainable solutions. You act independently, pragmatically, and with care.
You are curious and enthusiastic about new technologies, committed to ongoing professional development, and proactively drive change.
In exceptional cases—such as during system migrations—you are willing to perform on-call duties or work outside regular hours as needed.
