Backend Python Engineer (FastAPI & GIS)

🚀 **We're Hiring: Backend / Data Pipeline Engineer (Intelligence Layer)** 📍 **Location:** Lake City, Lahore (Onsite) #### Timing: Flexible 🕒 **Employment Type:** Full-Time We're looking for a Backend / Data Pipeline Engineer to help expand and maintain the intelligence engine behind our US real estate platform. Our Python/FastAPI reasoning engine is already live in production. Instead of building from scratch, you'll focus on extending its capabilities, improving reliability, and scaling it across new geographies. #### What You'll Do * Maintain and extend our Python/FastAPI reasoning engine for zoning, parcel, setback, flood, and environmental analysis. * Expand support across additional New Jersey counties and future US states. * Model municipality-specific zoning ordinances and resolve zoning data gaps county by county. * Integrate and evaluate external data sources while keeping API costs under control. * Generate structured Gemini outputs validated with Pydantic. * Deploy services using GCP Cloud Run and Secret Manager within our existing review and deployment process. Must-Have Skills * Python * FastAPI * Pydantic * GIS / Geospatial experience * Google Cloud Platform (GCP) * Experience managing API usage and infrastructure costs Nice to Have * Experience with US real estate or zoning data * RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) experience How We Work We're looking for someone who: * Thinks through scope before building and proposes solutions rather than expanding infrastructure unnecessarily. * Follows a collaborative Git workflow with reviewable pull requests and structured deployments. * Communicates proactively and raises blockers early instead of waiting until deadlines.
