About This Position The City of Phoenix, Information Technology Services Department (ITS) provides enterprise-wide IT and supports departments' business solutions. Our business is in the City of Phoenix, which means the work our IT professionals do helps to improve lives of residents, businesses, and visitors to Phoenix! The Information Technology Services (ITS) department is seeking an Enterprise GIS Administrator (ITAP II) to help support the City's 40 plus enterprise geospatial servers. This position will serve an important role within the Enterprise GIS (eGIS) team. Collectively, the eGIS team manage enterprise GIS licensing, software, applications, services, open data and online GIS discovery. This position will help maintain the ArcGIS Enterprise Architecture, containing high-availability ArcGIS Servers and Portal Servers. As such, the role requires a blend of geospatial expertise and infrastructure management skills, strong computer science skills, familiarity with Esri GIS software, spatial data and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to meet project objectives. The Enterprise GIS Administrator will work under supervision of the Enterprise GIS Manager, and directly with the enterprise GIS Architect on system monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, improvements and upgrades. Telework Work Eligibility, Conditions, And Requirements This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule of up to five days per week, contingent upon performance, attendance, and approval from the Deputy Department head. The role requires flexibility to attend in person meetings or trainings at a designated City work location as operational needs arise. This may include midday, or same day requests to report onsite as operational needs arise. Preference will be given to candidates residing locally or within the state of Arizona; however candidates willing to relocate by the time of hire are also encouraged to apply. This temporary position will be funded through June 2028 with a possibility to be made a regular fulltime position in a future budget cycle. The temporary position will have benefits but will not earn city retirement credits or participate financially into the city's retirement program. If the successful candidate is a current City employee, all benefits will still be applicable, and the employee will still contribute to their pension. Temporary positions are not covered under civil service rules, and thus employment is considered "at-will", and employees may be separated at any time. IDEAL CANDIDATE Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and recommend system improvements. Proficiency in Esri's ArcGIS suite. Knowledge of: Cloud-based GIS solutions. IT systems and platforms. Best practices and security protocols for an enterprise GIS system. SALARY Pay Range: $76,294.40 to $112,715.20 annually. Hiring Range: $76,294.40 to $102,232.00 annually. For more details, visit: Unit 007 Benefits Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in GIS computer systems analysis and/or computer applications programming and development. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, geographic information systems, or a related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position. Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Preferred Qualifications The minimum qualifications listed above, plus: Two years of experience configuring ArcGIS Enterprise systems. Experience with/in: Multi-tier ArcGIS environments. Supporting ArcGIS Enterprise systems. Server clustering, load balancing, and ArcGIS Enterprise tuning. Providing application performance monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and optimization. Designing and developing ArcGIS Enterprise Server components, such as: Web Adaptor, Portal, and Data Store.
