Objective
Provide scientific and technical support to the development of geospatial and sociospatial research of the CAMPS project, integrating, managing and analyzing spatial data from remote sensing, geographic and statistical sources and qualitative research. Develop and maintain reproducible workflows for analysis, validation, documentation, publication and dissemination. Ensure data and metadata comply with FAIR principles.
Functions
• Manage, structure, maintain and document geospatial datasets produced and used by the project
• Integrate data from institutional sources, remote sensing, OpenStreetMap, spatial databases and other quantitative and qualitative sources
• Develop and execute geospatial and sociospatial analyses at global, settlement and case study scales
• Support development, validation and application of the project's spatial indicators
• Review, validate and integrate results from automated remote sensing and GeoAI workflows within the CAMPS data infrastructure
• Develop reproducible scripts and workflows for data cleaning, transformation, analysis and visualization
• Manage and contribute to the project's spatial databases and data architecture
• Prepare cartography, figures, analyses and datasets for scientific articles, the CAMPS atlas, reports and presentations
• Document methodologies, metadata and data provenance per FAIR principles
• Provide technical and methodological support in GIS and spatial analysis to the interdisciplinary CAMPS team
• Contribute to methodological development and scientific publications
Requirements
Mid-level university degree; Diploma (old degree) or University Degree (new degree).
Professional profile
Studies in Geography, GIScience/Geoinformation, Urbanism and Territorial Planning, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Architecture or related disciplines with significant specialization in spatial analysis, geospatial data or GIS.
Specialty: geospatial and sociospatial analysis, research data management (FAIR), and geographic information systems.
Knowledge: spatial/territorial analysis at different scales; GIS and spatial databases; integration/harmonization/validation/documentation of geospatial data; analysis of spatial patterns related to human settlements, services, infrastructures, accessibility, land uses, urban morphology and territorial transformation.
