Xenith IG is a licenced Dark Fibre Telecommunications Carrier that has fibre optic infrastructure network across the APAC region. Xenith IG provides point to point dark fibre solutions for businesses wanting to have optimum security, increased storage and full control over their fibre.

Overview:
Xenith IG are taking on some large Telecommunication infrastructure builds around the APAC region and require an experienced Fibre Network Designer.
The Fibre Network Designer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and analysing geospatial data related to telecommunications infrastructure, including fibre optic networks, and network assets. The role supports network planning, design, deployment, operations, and maintenance by providing accurate GIS mapping, spatial analysis, and data management services.
This position will be mainly office based but could require some time in the Field, with flexible working arrangements (WFH). This job is for those based in
Singapore or Sydney
only.
Key Responsibilities:
GIS Data Management
· Maintain and update telecommunications network databases and GIS platforms.
· Ensure the accuracy and integrity of spatial and attribute data.
· Perform data collection, validation, cleansing, and quality assurance activities.
· Integrate field survey and as-built information into GIS systems.
Network Mapping & Documentation
· Create and maintain maps for fibre optic networks, cell towers, underground and aerial cable routes.
· Produce network design drawings and geospatial reports.
· Support network inventory and asset management initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with company GIS standards and documentation requirements.
Arc GIS Editing
· Edit and maintain spatial datasets using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.
· Create, update, and delete GIS features including points, lines, and polygons.
· Perform attribute updates and maintain data accuracy in accordance with organizational standards.
· Conduct topology validation and resolve spatial errors.
· Manage geodatabases and maintain data versioning workflows.
FME Data Integration & Automation
· Develop, maintain, and execute FME workspaces for spatial data transformation and migration.
· Automate data validation, quality assurance, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
· Integrate GIS data from multiple sources, including CAD, spreadsheets, databases, and external systems.
· Support data conversions between GIS, engineering, and asset management platforms.
· Troubleshoot and optimise FME workflows to improve operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Support
· Collaborate with network engineers, project managers, planners, and field teams.
· Provide GIS technical support and training to internal users.
· Coordinate with contractors, utility providers, and government agencies when required.
Reporting & Compliance
· Prepare GIS reports, performance metrics, and project documentation.
· Support regulatory submissions and telecommunications infrastructure reporting.
· Monitor data governance and compliance with organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Geomatics, Surveying, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
· 2-5 years of GIS experience, preferably within telecommunications, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering industries.
· Experience working with telecommunications network data is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar GIS software.
· Experience with QGIS and geospatial databases.
· Knowledge of spatial data management and GIS workflows.
· Understanding of telecommunications networks, including:
Fiber optic infrastructure
Dark Fibre DC – DC
· Familiarity with AutoCAD, Smallworld, MapInfo, or network inventory systems is advantageous.
· Basic SQL and database management skills.
· Experience with GPS, field data collection tools, and mobile GIS applications.
Soft Skills

Preferred Certifications
