Field Surveyor

Field Surveyor United Kingdom (Field-Based / Travel Required) Competitive Day Rate / Permanent Contract hackajob is partnering with a major utility and telecom infrastructure provider to hire multiple Field Surveyors across the UK. In this role, you will conduct field data collection, asset mapping, and utility line surveying to support fiber broadband rollout and infrastructure upgrades. Key Responsibilities: Field Data Collection: Conduct on-site spatial surveys of utility assets, pole routes, chamber locations, and underground duct networks using handheld GPS/GNSS devices and survey tablets. Data Capture: Record asset attributes, site photographs, and structural condition reports directly into mobile GIS apps (Survey123, ArcGIS Field Maps). Quality Assurance: Ensure surveyed data meets strict horizontal accuracy and client attribute standards before uploading to central GIS databases. Site Liaison: Coordinate with local highway authorities, landowners, and field engineers during survey operations. Requirements: Previous experience as a Field Surveyor, Utility Surveyor, Asset Data Collector, or GIS Field Technician. Experience using handheld GNSS survey equipment (Trimble, Leica) and mobile GIS apps (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123). Ability to read utility drawings, OS mapping, and BT/Openreach network records.
