Role: Forward Deployed Engineer - SAR Intelligence, Portugal Department: Forward Deployed Engineering Location: Portugal (Lisbon) / Remote About ICEYE: ICEYE operates the world's largest synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite constellation. Role Summary: As a Forward Deployed Geospatial Engineer, you will build and deploy SAR satellite data processing pipelines, geospatial analytical tools, and intelligence solutions for government and defense partners. Key Responsibilities: Develop automated Python data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze SAR radar satellite imagery and geospatial vector data. Perform spatial analysis, target detection, change detection, and disaster monitoring using SAR data. Deploy geospatial APIs, QGIS plugins, and cloud-based analytical workflows for client integration. Work with defense and maritime intelligence stakeholders to solve complex spatial problems. Qualifications: Degree in Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, CS, or Physics. 3+ years of experience with Python, GDAL/OGR, Rasterio, QGIS, and satellite remote sensing (SAR preferred). Experience with cloud geospatial processing (AWS, Docker, PostGIS).
