About the Role

Position Overview: The Geodetic Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, managing, and supervising all geodetic surveying, mapping, geospatial, and engineering survey activities associated with utility-scale renewable energy, transmission, substation, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), industrial, and infrastructure projects. The role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of survey and geospatial data used throughout project development, engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project close-out while ensuring compliance with applicable international standards, Philippine regulations, contractual requirements, and project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Survey Planning, Design and Technical Studies Develop survey execution plans, methodologies, and survey control strategies for renewable energy, power, and infrastructure projects. Plan and establish primary and secondary survey control networks for engineering design and construction activities. Perform technical review and verification of survey deliverables prepared by consultants, contractors, and third-party survey firms. Conduct technical due diligence reviews of survey, mapping, topographic, cadastral, and geospatial data. Review and validate geotechnical, hydrological, flood, drainage, terrain, and land-use studies from a geospatial perspective. Support project feasibility studies, site selection, land acquisition, and project development activities. Provide survey and geospatial inputs for engineering design optimization and constructability assessments. Develop survey specifications, scopes of work, and technical requirements for procurement and contractor engagements. Geodetic Surveying Plan, design, and execute geodetic survey projects. Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control networks. Perform high-precision GPS/GNSS observations and processing. Conduct leveling, triangulation, trilateration, and traverse surveys. Verify survey accuracy through quality assurance procedures. Data Collection and Analysis Collect, process, analyze, and interpret geospatial data. Perform coordinate transformations and datum conversions. Analyze survey measurements using statistical adjustment methods. Generate accurate survey reports and technical documentation. Validate field data for consistency and precision. Mapping and GIS Develop topographic, cadastral, engineering, and thematic maps. Integrate survey data into Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Manage geospatial databases. Produce digital terrain models (DTMs), contour maps, and orthophotos. Support spatial analysis for planning and engineering projects. Quantity Verification and Earthworks Management Perform earthwork quantity calculations, cut-and-fill analysis, and volume computations. Prepare Digital Terrain Models (DTM), surface models, and earthwork balance reports. Verify contractor quantity calculations for grading, excavation, embankment, roads, drainage, and site development works. Support quantity surveying activities through accurate survey-based quantity verification. Monitor earthwork progress and provide survey validation for contractor progress claims. Support cost estimation and engineering evaluations through geospatial and quantity data analysis. Conduct volumetric surveys for borrow areas, stockpiles, spoil areas, and construction materials. Engineering and Construction Support Provide survey control and engineering support for utility-scale solar PV plants, substations, transmission lines, BESS facilities, roads, drainage systems, buildings, and other infrastructure projects. Perform construction staking, setting-out, alignment verification, and dimensional control surveys. Verify contractor survey controls, benchmarks, coordinates, and construction layouts. Conduct as-built surveys and verify compliance with approved engineering drawings and project specifications. Support engineering design teams by providing accurate topographic, terrain, and geospatial information. Coordinate with civil, electrical, structural, mechanical, environmental, and construction teams. Assist in design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical evaluations from a geospatial and surveying perspective. Monitor construction progress through survey verification and reporting. Participate in site inspections, technical reviews, and project coordination meetings. Renewable Energy and Power Infrastructure Support Support utility-scale solar PV project development and construction through survey and geospatial services. Conduct site suitability assessments and terrain analysis for solar plant optimization. Support transmission line route selection, alignment verification, and right-of-way surveys. Support substation site development and construction surveys. Perform tracker alignment verification and solar block layout validation. Support Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developments through engineering surveys and site control establishment. Assist in flood assessments, drainage planning, and terrain optimization studies. Remote Sensing and Advanced Technologies Utilize UAV/drone surveying technologies. Process LiDAR and photogrammetric data. Apply satellite imagery for mapping and analysis. Implement 3D laser scanning techniques. Develop digital models for engineering applications. Land Administration Conduct boundary and cadastral surveys. Prepare subdivision and consolidation surveys. Resolve property boundary issues. Prepare legal survey documentation. Ensure compliance with land registration requirements. Quality Assurance Develop quality control procedures. Calibrate and maintain surveying instruments. Verify survey accuracy against project specifications. Conduct field audits and technical reviews. Ensure adherence to professional standards. Project Management Prepare project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Manage survey teams and subcontractors. Monitor project progress and deliverables. Prepare technical reports and client presentations. Coordinate with government agencies and stakeholders Qualifications & Experience: Education Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Engineering Professional licensure or registration as required by the applicable jurisdiction. Experience Entry Level: 0–3 years of surveying experience. Mid-Level: 3–7 years of professional geodetic engineering experience. Senior Level: 8+ years managing complex geospatial and surveying projects.
