About the Role
We are looking for a motivated GIS & Planning Intern to support EV infrastructure planning and network expansion activities across Ireland and the UK.
The role will involve assisting with GIS analysis, spatial data management, and site feasibility studies to support the growth of EV charging infrastructure. The intern will work closely with the Network Planning Team to analyse existing charging networks, identify opportunities for expansion, and contribute to data-driven planning decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Support analysis of existing EV charging infrastructure and network coverage.
Assist with EV infrastructure site feasibility assessments and network expansion studies.
Prepare maps, GIS visualisations, and analytical reports.
Help identify network gaps, demand opportunities, and spatial trends.
Assist in the management, maintenance, and analysis of spatial datasets.
Support the development and improvement of GIS workflows and planning methodologies.
Collaborate with planning, operations, and commercial teams on infrastructure planning projects.
Contribute to research and data collection activities to support strategic planning initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
Recently completed, a degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Transport Planning, or a related field.
Understanding and hands-on experience of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, and mapping techniques.
Experience using ArcGIS Pro or QGIS through coursework, projects, internships, or personal learning.
Interest in EV infrastructure, sustainable mobility, transport systems, and spatial planning.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work with datasets and interpret spatial information.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Familiarity with Python, SQL, spatial analytics, or geospatial data processing would be an advantage but is not essential.
