Geographic Information Systems Analyst

Company Description Thirty Hills Forest Co. manages 38,665 hectares of land in the Bukit Tigapuluh landscape in Tebo, Jambi, focusing on forest protection and restoration. The company’s work aims to restore forest ecosystems and wildlife habitats. Role Description The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Tebo, Jambi. The role involves collecting, processing, and maintaining spatial data to support forest protection, restoration activities, and land-use planning of the ABT concession The GIS Analyst will perform GIS analysis, generate maps and spatial reports, and provide data-driven insights to inform conservation strategies and operational decisions. Daily tasks include managing GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and collaborating with field teams, and management to integrate geospatial information into project planning. The position also requires documenting methodologies, preparing visual materials for internal and external stakeholders, and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and reporting efforts. Qualifications Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and GIS Applications, with experience using common GIS software and tools. Strong GIS Analysis and Analytical Skills to interpret spatial data, identify patterns, and support decision-making. Solid Data Management skills, including organizing, updating, and validating spatial and non-spatial datasets. Bachelor’s degree in geography, environmental science, forestry, geospatial science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to work on-site in Jambi and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including field staff and community stakeholders. Experience with remote sensing, GPS data collection, or spatial modeling is an advantage. Familiarity with forest conservation, land-use planning, or natural resource management in tropical landscapes is beneficial. Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex geospatial information in clear visual and written formats.
