About the Role

Texas A&M Forest Service is seeking a Geospatial Analyst II in College Station, Texas, within Enterprise Data & Analytics. The role supports wildfire preparedness and response by developing data-driven solutions, conducting advanced geospatial analyses, automating workflows, communicating insights through reports, visualizations and interactive platforms, and compiling, processing and managing complex tabular, vector and raster data. The position also supports emergency response operations when requested, participates in the agency geospatial working group, and collaborates across agency programs. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resources, spatial sciences, math, statistics or a related field; at least four years of geospatial analysis, statistical analysis or similar experience, with an advanced degree potentially substituting for experience; knowledge of data analysis processes; analytical skills in environmental geospatial modeling, remote sensing and/or spatial statistics; project management and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS Pro, Python and remote sensing software; and working knowledge of relational databases. Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree, natural resources/forestry/wildfire experience, wildland fuels mapping, wildfire response field support, land use/land cover change detection, LiDAR, Python or R, Google Earth Engine, Power Automate, Power BI, machine learning and advanced statistical techniques.
