GIS Analyst

Responsibilities Manage and maintain the intermediate GIS database in PostgreSQL/PostGIS, ensuring its availability, integrity, and performance. Design and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) processes to validate the consistency, accuracy, and integrity of geospatial data. Execute data cleansing, normalization, correction, and updating processes for geographic data, ensuring compliance with the project’s technical standards. Design, develop, and execute ETL processes for the transformation, integration, and migration of data from the intermediate database to the production environment. Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate geoprocessing, data validation, loading, transformation, and report generation. Manage version control, traceability, and technical documentation for data, processes, scripts, and project integration workflows. Monitor and optimize database performance and integration processes, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner. Provide technical support to the GIS Coordinator, the IT team, and field crews regarding the use of tools, forms, and processes related to geospatial data management. Prepare technical reports and performance indicators related to data quality, migrations, and project objectives. Ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and best practices for geospatial data management, quality control, automation, and integration throughout the data lifecycle. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geomatics, or a related field. Preferred: ESRI Technical Certification (ArcGIS), certification or specialization in spatial database administration, or geospatial data science. Minimum of 3 years of experience in GIS database administration and geospatial data quality processes. Proven experience designing and implementing dynamic forms using Survey123 for ArcGIS (advanced XLSForm and Arcade expressions). Experience managing PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases, including schema design, SQL geoprocessing, and spatial query optimization. Experience developing Python scripts for GIS automation and geoprocessing (ArcPy, GeoPandas, ArcGIS Python API). Experience with data migration and integration processes using ETL tools (FME, ArcGIS Data Interoperability, or similar). Preferred: Experience in drinking water infrastructure or public utility projects, and/or projects financed by multilateral development organizations.
