#### **Our Business**
Manulife Forest Management (NZ) Limited (MFM (NZ)) manages approximately 200,000 hectares of plantation forest across New Zealand on behalf of institutional forest investment clients. Our team combines forestry expertise, innovation, and technology to deliver sustainable forest management solutions across the North Island.
We're looking for a skilled GIS Analyst to join our Rotorua-based GIS team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading geospatial technologies while supporting operational forestry and harvesting, harvest planning, land management, environmental management and strategic decision-making across a large and diverse forest estate.
#### **About the Role**
As a GIS Analyst, you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of MFM (NZ)'s spatial information systems and forestry datasets. You'll provide geospatial services, mapping products, technical support and innovative solutions that help our operational teams make informed decisions every day.
You'll work closely with various teams within our business to ensure our spatial information remains accurate, accessible and valuable.
#### **Key Responsibilities**
* Maintain the quality, integrity and governance of spatial information and forestry datasets.
* Produce maps and spatial information products that support operational and strategic decision-making.
* Manage and update forest estate spatial layers using aerial imagery, remote sensing and other data sources.
* Support users across the business with GIS systems, applications and mobile field data collection tools.
* Deliver GIS training and technical support to internal stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of ESRI-based applications and databases.
* Develop automated workflows using tools such as Model Builder, Arcade and Python.
* Assist in evaluating and implementing emerging geospatial technologies and business improvements.
**About You** To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
* A tertiary qualification in GIS, Geography, Spatial Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience working with GIS platforms and enterprise spatial data environments.
* Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and mobile GIS applications.
* Experience with spatial data management, mapping and geospatial analysis.
* Exposure to automation and scripting technologies such as Python, Arcade or Model Builder.
* Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
* Forestry, natural resource management or related industry experience would be advantageous.
