Title : GIS Analyst Location : St. Paul, MN | Hybrid Job Type : Contract (3 months), potential to extend Compensation : $50.00-55.00/ hour Industry: Chemical Manufacturing About the Role Our staffing firm is partnering with a global leader in water, hygiene, sustainability, and business technology solutions to identify a skilled GIS Analyst . This role supports a geographically distributed field service and sales organization by transforming spatial data into actionable business intelligence. The successful candidate will use GIS technology, analytics, and mapping tools to uncover trends, optimize operations, and deliver insights that improve service delivery, territory planning, and overall business performance. This is a hybrid position based in Saint Paul, Minnesota , working closely with GIS professionals, business leaders, and operational stakeholders to support strategic decision-making through geospatial analysis. Job Description As a GIS Analyst, you will analyze and interpret geographic and spatial data to support operational efficiency, route optimization, territory planning, business development, and service delivery initiatives. You will combine internal and external datasets, develop analytical models, and communicate findings to stakeholders across the organization. Key Responsibilities Analyze spatial and geographic data using GIS software and mapping technologies to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities. Perform data mining, data cleansing, and data transformation activities to support geospatial analysis. Develop maps, dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate business insights effectively. Conduct GIS modeling, network analysis, routing optimization, territory planning, and related spatial analyses. Collaborate with field management, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives. Apply geospatial, statistical, and analytical techniques to solve complex business challenges. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams. Support and enhance existing GIS capabilities while contributing to the development of new solutions and analytical tools. Provide guidance and training to business users on GIS data, tools, and outputs. Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining high-quality deliverables. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field. 5+ years of professional GIS experience. Strong experience with the Esri GIS platform, including: ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Online ArcMap Business Analyst Network Analyst Experience Builder Spatial Analyst Experience designing and developing GIS dashboards and reporting solutions. Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex business problems using geospatial data. Experience working with geographic and spatial analysis methods and techniques. Strong communication skills with the ability to present analytical findings to business stakeholders. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and business leaders. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience serving in a consulting, advisory, or business-partnering capacity. Advanced experience with ArcGIS Online and related cloud-based GIS solutions. Experience supporting routing, logistics, field service operations, or sales territory planning initiatives. Working knowledge of SQL or other query languages. Experience balancing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholder priorities. Bachelor's degree specifically in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
