GIS Analyst

ZZ2’s IT Department - Geographical Information System team (GIS) has a vacancy available for a GIS Analyst. ZZ2’s Head Office is situated in Mooketsi in the Limpopo province. The successful candidate will ideally be detail oriented, extremely analytical and approaches the job with a service-oriented mindset. Candidates must meet at least one of the following academic criteria: BA (Hons) (Geographical Information Systems) MA (Geographical Information Systems) BSc (Hons) (GeoInformatics) MSc (GeoInformatics) Experience using the following software & tools: ArcMap ArcGIS Online (Advantageous) Other ESRI products (Optional) QGIS ERDAS Imagine (Advantageous) Data Sources and Data Acquisition Other GIS Tools will be an advantage Additional exposure and or experience in the following functional disciplines will be considered an advantage: Computer Science Geology Geohydrology Primary responsibilities include: Precision application of fertilizer maps Provide a service within the business to various client departments Interacting with various stakeholders within the business GIS projects, i.e.: Site selection for planting, Analytics projects & studies Agronomic service provider orders & interaction Skills: Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Geographic Analysis Spatial Statistics Visualisation and Cartography Technical skills in PostgreSQL, GeoServer, MySQL Updating of spatial datasets in collaboration with our Engineering department.
