About the Role
Role Purpose
Support CleanMax's carbon and REC business through spatial data analysis, mapping, and geo-tagging of renewable energy assets — assisting project eligibility checks, MRV documentation, and registry submissions for carbon credit and I-REC programs.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain GIS maps, shapefiles, and geo-tagged data for solar/wind project sites used in carbon credit and I-REC registration
Support MRV documentation by mapping project boundaries, land parcels, and site layouts for registry submissions (Verra, Gold Standard, I-REC, CCTS/Grid-India)
Assist in spatial checks for project eligibility — land use classification, proximity to exclusion/protected zones, grid connectivity mapping
Compile geo-referenced documentation and maps required for validation/verification audits by third-party auditors (VVBs)
Work with satellite imagery and basic remote sensing tools to support site monitoring and land-use tracking
Maintain and update a centralized GIS repository of carbon/REC-registered project assets
Coordinate with Carbon Business, Legal, and Engineering teams to provide spatial inputs for registration and compliance documentation
Prepare basic maps/visualizations for internal reporting
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Environmental Science, Remote Sensing, or related field
2–3 years of hands-on experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS)
Basic understanding of satellite imagery/remote sensing concepts
Comfortable with spatial data management and preparing maps/shapefiles independently
Good documentation skills
Preferred
Exposure to renewable energy project data or carbon/REC registry documentation (Verra, Gold Standard, I-REC, CCTS) — not mandatory, can be trained on the job
Basic Python/R knowledge for geospatial data handling
Prior internship/project experience in environmental or renewable energy sector
