About the Role

GIS Analyst New York, New York (Hybrid) Full-Time / Permanent | Competitive Salary + Annual Bonus + Benefits VHB (Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.) is a 2,000-person engineering, planning, science, and design consultancy operating across the US East Coast. We are hiring a GIS Analyst to join our vibrant Applied Technology and GIS practice in New York City. You will work on transportation planning, urban resilience, environmental impact reviews, and site development projects across NYC and the tri-state area. Key Responsibilities: Spatial Analysis & Mapping: Conduct spatial queries, multi-criteria suitability modeling, and environmental constraint mapping using ArcGIS Pro and QGIS. Web GIS Development: Configure ArcGIS Online web maps, Web AppBuilder / Experience Builder apps, and Field Maps for project teams. Data Automation: Develop Python scripts (ArcPy / GeoPandas) and FME workbenches to streamline data ETL and map publishing. Client Deliverables: Produce high-quality cartographic figures and technical reports for public sector clients (NYCDOT, MTA, PANYNJ). Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or related field. 2-4 years professional GIS experience within an engineering or planning consultancy. Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, and Python. Experience with NYC open data (PLUTO, Bytes of the Big Apple) is an asset. Apply online via VHB Careers.
