GIS Architect – Data Platform

Company: TiTANS België Title: GIS Architect – Data Platform For the further development of its data platform, the organization is seeking an experienced GIS Architect to define and anchor the GIS architecture within the broader enterprise data architecture. Responsibilities Design a forward-looking GIS architecture for the data platform. Define integration between GIS components, data sources, the data platform, and reporting environments. Develop architectural principles, reference architecture, and target architecture. Identify technical and organizational constraints for GIS data storage, management, and accessibility. Advise on technology choices, standards, and best practices for geospatial data. Coordinate with data architects, business stakeholders, and technical teams. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a GIS Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Solution Architect within GIS environments. Demonstrated experience with geospatial platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, GeoServer, PostgreSQL/PostGIS). In-depth knowledge of GIS architecture, data modeling, API integrations, and cloud or data platform architectures (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks). Experience in developing architectural documentation and roadmap proposals. Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience. Expected Deliverables Current and target GIS architecture for the data platform. Architectural principles and design decisions. Integration and data flow overview. Recommendations and implementation roadmap. This assignment requires both strategic architectural thinking and sufficient technical depth to ensure the proposed architecture is concrete and implementable. General Terms Performance: 1 day per week, in coordination with the project manager, between 8:30 and 17:00. Work environment: Agile. The organization provides necessary licenses, software, and network access. Office 365 may be provided without a license; a company license is required or alternatively LibreOffice. Skills Demonstrated experience as a specialist architect in a specific domain or as an Enterprise Architect. Demonstrated experience in developing architectural documentation and roadmaps. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of GIS architecture. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with modeling techniques (e.g., Archimate, TOGAF, UML, Sparx EA). Demonstrated knowledge of cloud or data platform architectures (e.g., Data Factory, Databricks). Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience as a GIS Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Solution Architect in GIS environments. Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2. Demonstrated experience with geospatial platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, GeoServer, PostgreSQL/PostGIS). Demonstrated knowledge and experience with general business processes. Demonstrated knowledge of various project management aspects (costs, timing, coordination, scheduling, estimations). Demonstrated knowledge of all domains and proven specialist architect experience in at least one specialized domain (infrastructure, application, security, data, process, etc.).
