Where can you find us? Our headquarters is in Edegem, with flexible workspaces in our hubs in Ghent and Leuven. You’ll also work on-site at your assigned client location on a weekly basis.
Your Role as a GIS Consultant
Work Location: At the client site, at a Geo Solutions office/hub, or remotely.
As a GIS Consultant, you’ll work on-site with clients to address geographic challenges and translate complex spatial data into clear, actionable insights. Your responsibilities may include one or more of the following, tailored to your expertise, talents, and interests:
Collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
Developing maps, models, and reports to deliver clear and useful insights to clients.
Supporting the setup of GIS databases, web-GIS solutions, and workflow automation.
Advising clients on GIS-related matters—understanding their needs and challenges, and translating them into practical solutions.
Collaborating with project teams to solve spatial problems and optimize data analysis.
Maintaining up-to-date GIS files and documentation.
Additionally, you’ll be part of a collaborative team at Geo Solutions, contributing to knowledge sharing through workshops, presentations, or informal sessions.
What We Expect from You
To contribute effectively to our projects, we require:
A degree in Geography, Bio-Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience with GIS software.
Ability to translate client processes into technical implementations.
Strong communication skills to engage with clients and translate their needs into actionable solutions.
Analytical mindset, ability to work independently, and strong teamwork skills.
