Where You’ll Work:
Our main office is in Edegem, with flexible workspaces available in our Ghent and Leuven hubs. You’ll also regularly visit client sites as part of your assigned projects.
Your Role as a GIS Consultant:
Work Location: At client site, Geo office/hub, or remotely (hybrid model)
As a GIS Consultant, you’ll work on-site with clients to solve geographic challenges and translate complex spatial data into actionable insights. Your responsibilities may include one or more of the following, tailored to your expertise, skills, and interests:
Collect, process, analyze, and visualize geographic data using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
Develop maps, models, and reports to provide clear, usable insights for clients
Support the setup of GIS databases, web-GIS solutions, and workflow automation
Advise clients on GIS-related issues—understanding their needs and translating them into practical solutions
Collaborate with project teams to resolve spatial challenges and optimize data analysis
Maintain up-to-date GIS files and documentation
Additionally, you’ll be part of a collaborative team at Geo Solutions, contributing to knowledge sharing through workshops, presentations, or informal sessions.
What We Expect from You:
To succeed in this role, we’re looking for:
A degree in Geography, Bio-Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience with GIS software
Ability to translate client requirements into technical implementations
Strong communication skills to engage with clients and bridge business needs with technical solutions
Analytical mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Enthusiasm, expertise, and professionalism
