GIS Data Analyst

Company: ERM Erm Careers The Data, Analytics and Visualization team in Brazil supports projects through geospatial technology solutions, producing maps, applications, and dashboards for internal and external clients. We are seeking a professional with experience in Geoprocessing to support the preparation and review of technical maps, spatial data processing, and GIS database maintenance—primarily for projects related to Contaminated Site Management, Environmental Licensing and Impact Assessment, Audits, and Due Diligence. Responsibilities Create technical maps in ArcGIS Pro for reports, occasionally using AutoCAD or CorelDRAW. Validate and correct CAD data and topographic surveys received from vendors. Convert and structure data from CAD, CorelDRAW, and PDF files into GIS environments. Update and organize geospatial databases and datasets, ensuring consistency and version control. Perform final quality review of maps produced by the team before client release. Support project teams in identifying and applying GIS solutions to enhance delivery quality and efficiency. In the future, participate in publishing and maintaining map services, applications, field maps, dashboards, and StoryMaps. Required Qualifications Professional experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and its geoprocessing tools. Experience producing maps for projects in: * Contaminated site management * Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) * Environmental Licensing * Audits and Due Diligence Including: * Potentiometric maps * Delineation of groundwater plumes and free-phase contaminants * Transverse geological cross-sections * Land use and land cover maps * Alternative site selection studies * Environmental sensitivity maps * Delimitation of direct and indirect impact areas * Audit finding maps * Preliminary environmental maps per CETESB standards * Historical comparisons of aerial photos and satellite imagery Knowledge of geodatabase management, including creation, import/export of feature classes, configuration of domains and subtypes, and database organization, cleaning, and maintenance. Proficiency in geoprocessing tools such as joins, related tables, merge, union, intersect, topology, and dissolve. Ability to configure symbology—from categorical to quantitative representations and charts. Experience configuring labels and annotations, including Maplex, placement, weights, conflict resolution, and conversion to annotation. Ability to apply basic and intermediate queries and expressions for data filtering and visualization. Understanding of coordinate reference systems, map projections, and coordinate transformations. Preferred Skills Processing and information extraction from drone and satellite imagery. Programming in Python and ArcPy. ModelBuilder. Configuration and use of ArcGIS Online.
