The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining geospatial applications, spatial databases, web mapping platforms, and geospatial data processing systems that support business-critical workflows and decision-making. The GIS Developer will be responsible for building custom GIS applications, developing interactive web mapping solutions, managing spatial databases, and creating automated geospatial data pipelines. The role includes integrating geospatial capabilities into enterprise applications through APIs and backend services, performing spatial analysis, optimizing map rendering performance, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of geospatial systems. You will work closely with product teams, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to transform complex spatial data into intuitive and high-performance software solutions. #### **Qualifications** * 3+ years of experience in GIS development, geospatial software engineering, or spatial data applications * Strong proficiency in Python for geospatial development (GeoPandas, Shapely, GDAL/OGR, ArcPy, PyGIS, or similar tools) * Experience developing web-based GIS applications and interactive mapping solutions * Strong understanding of JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, C#, Java, or similar development technologie * Experience with mapping frameworks such as Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, OpenLayers, CesiumJS, or ArcGIS API for JavaScript * Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial, Oracle Spatial, or similar spatial databases * Strong understanding of spatial indexing, spatial queries, and coordinate reference systems (CRS/EPSG) * Experience building REST APIs and integrating geospatial services with enterprise applications * Experience developing ETL pipelines for processing raster and vector datasets * Familiarity with GeoServer, MapServer, ArcGIS Enterprise, or ArcGIS Online * Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure * Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines * Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular * Strong problem-solving and debugging skills * Ability to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams * Experience with remote sensing, satellite imagery, LiDAR, 3D mapping, or real-time spatial data systems is a plus * Esri, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications are a plus * Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Geography, or a related field preferred
