GIS Engineer

Job Summary: A skilled GIS professional responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining geographic databases to support infrastructure and road/bridge projects. The role involves performing advanced spatial analysis (including hydrological, terrain, and surface modeling), producing high-quality cartographic outputs, and ensuring data accuracy through geodatabase topology rules. The position also includes digitizing and converting maps, integrating GPS field data, supporting operations with GIS-based reporting, and combining CAD drawings with GIS workflows. Additionally, the role requires preparing analytical reports using Microsoft Office tools to support decision-making. Job Duties: 1- Develop, manage, and maintain geographic databases for infrastructure and road/bridge projects using ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and QGIS. 2- Perform advanced spatial analysis including hydrological modeling, terrain analysis, and surface modeling using Spatial Analyst tools. 3- Design and produce professional cartographic outputs (maps, layouts) with proper symbology, legends, scale bars, and coordinate grids. 4- Build and enforce geodatabase topology rules to ensure spatial data quality and integrity. 5- Digitize, edit, and convert paper-based maps to digital formats (points, lines, polygons) with high accuracy. 6- Manage and organize large volumes of geographic and attribute data, ensuring proper linking and storage. 7- Operate GPS devices for field surveying and navigation, and integrate collected data into GIS platforms. 8- Support infrastructure operations rooms by providing GIS-based mapping and reporting. 9- Utilize AutoCAD for engineering drawings and integrate CAD data with GIS workflows. 10- Prepare and present data-driven reports using advanced Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint). Educational Background Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) , Geography, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field Additional certifications in GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS) are a plus Qualifications Strong proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and QGIS. Experience in spatial analysis tools, especially hydrological and terrain modeling. Solid understanding of geodatabases, topology rules, and spatial data integrity. Experience in digitizing and converting maps with high accuracy. Familiarity with GPS devices and field data collection. Knowledge of AutoCAD and integration with GIS systems. Strong data management and organizational skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to produce professional maps and reports.
