The Workplace The Technical Services Administration is Trelleborg Municipality’s enabler, serving as a safe, secure, and value-driven resource. We work proactively, efficiently, and sustainably alongside residents, businesses, and visitors in Trelleborg Municipality. The administration’s five departments hold overall responsibility for planning, managing, and developing the public realm within their respective areas—for example, by maintaining municipal public spaces, waste management, sewer systems, water supply, and infrastructure. We also deliver internal services such as operation and maintenance of municipal facilities, cleaning, system management, and IT support. Department: Water and Circular Economy Kretslopp och vatten (Water and Circular Economy) is one department within the Technical Services Administration. With around 70 employees, we ensure that our customers receive high-quality drinking water, that wastewater is properly treated before reaching recipients, and that waste management functions effectively. As a GIS Engineer, you will join the Investigation and Development unit—one of four units within the Water and Circular Economy department. This unit provides advisory support across the entire department and consists of a diverse team with broad expertise: 7 investigation engineers with various specializations, 2 GIS engineers, 3 environmental engineers, and a unit manager. You will work on assignments commissioned by the Sewer Production unit and support operations on environmental-related matters. We are currently seeking someone to temporarily replace a colleague on leave. This temporary position runs for one year. Job Duties In the role of GIS Engineer, you will maintain the digital water and sewer network, using data sources such as GPS measurements and pipeline inspections conducted via camera in the pipelines. You will be responsible for responding to requests received, for example, through Ledningskollen (the pipeline inquiry system), and for producing maps for various purposes. During the assignment, tasks may include geospatial processing, statistical analysis, and other types of analysis. We use ESRI software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and Field Maps) as well as Geosecma Ledning VA. Qualifications Completed foundational GIS education at post-secondary level. Strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience or education in water and sewer (VA) systems and prior work with ESRI software is considered meritorious. Valid Class B driver’s license for a manual transmission vehicle is required.
