About the Role

Category: Internship Starting date: Immediate Location: Bandipur About Equilibrium: Equilibrium is a full-stack carbon removal developer building one of the largest high-integrity carbon portfolios from the Global South, with a ~20Mt CO removal pipeline. We develop bankable, high-impact projects by integrating advanced climate science, an in-house digital MRV platform, and innovative blended finance. Our portfolio spans across nature-based and engineered removal: on nature-based, we have large-scale agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and mangrove restoration initiatives; on engineered removal, we are building India's leading biochar platform with large-scale commercial operations. Collectively, our projects span 120,000+ hectares and will support over 150,000 smallholder farmers and coastal communities. Our work is backed by a $3M institutional seed round from Peak XV (formerly Sequoia) and Avaana Capital, and driven by a 95+ member team with deep expertise in climate science, carbon markets, and project operations. Key Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining forest inventory. Collect, validate, and accurately upload field data into the company's Digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) system. Conduct field visits to verify assigned data and ensure its accuracy and reliability. Independently manage on-ground operations, resolve local challenges, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the assigned region, identifying and reporting key field-level insights, opportunities, and risks. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of field observations, QA/QC of data and verification activities. Coordinate team logistics and work with field labourers. Collaborate with internal teams to improve data quality and support project implementation. Ideal Candidate Profile: Graduate or final-year student from any forestry or agricultural university or college. Fluency in Kannada is mandatory. Good understanding of Forest Inventory and sampling. Familiarity with the assigned region and its communities is preferred. Must own a smartphone and be comfortable using mobile applications for data collection and reporting, navigation apps. Should be comfortable working on MS Excel and Word. Fluency in Kannada is essential, basic English communication is desirable. Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in field environments. Available to join at the earliest.
