GIS Lead

An exciting opportunity exists for a senior geospatial professional to join an established consultancy as the GIS Lead. In this role, you will take ownership of the organisation’s spatial capabilities, supporting a wide range of environmental, planning, and infrastructure projects across Australia. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage GIS project delivery across various environmental and engineering sectors. Design, build, and maintain spatial databases, web maps, and automated spatial workflows. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality spatial outputs, data analysis, and cartographic products. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to identify spatial solutions that add value to client outcomes. Ensure spatial data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Environmental Science, spatial science or a related discipline. 6+ years of professional experience in GIS analysis, spatial data management, and mapping, ideally within a consultancy environment. Proficiency with Esri software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Survey123, Field Maps). Experience with spatial automation using Python (ArcPy) or FME. Strong understanding of database management (PostGIS, SQL, or Enterprise Geodatabases). Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical spatial concepts to non-spatial stakeholders. What's on Offer Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.
