GIS Officer

CHITUNGWIZA MUNICIPALITY - DEPARTMENT: URBAN PLANNING Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the below-mentioned vacant position in the Urban Planning Department. GIS OFFICER X1 Reports to: Urban Planning Manager Duties and Responsibilities Managing geospatial data related to the Municipality's assets, infrastructure and land parcels. Collecting, updating and organising spatial data from various sources such as surveys, aerial imagery and field data. Creating maps and visualisations for various departments and stakeholders. Developing thematic, zoning and utility maps and other spatial representations. Performing spatial analysis to support urban planning activities. Analysing demographic data, land use patterns, transportation networks and other spatial factors. Integrating geospatial data with other Municipal systems and databases. Providing training and technical support to staff members who use GIS software and tools. Any other duties as assigned by the Urban Planning Manager. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems. 4 years of experience working with GIS. Must be 30 years old and above.
