CHITUNGWIZA MUNICIPALITY - URBAN PLANNING DEPARTMENT Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced personnel to fill the below-mentioned vacant positions in the Urban Planning Department. GIS TECHNICIANS X 3 The incumbents will report to the GIS Officer. Qualifications/Requirements Higher National Diploma in Geographic Information Systems. 3 years of experience working with GIS. Must be 25 years old and above. Key Duties and Responsibilities Collecting data using GPS devices, aerial photography and other tools to create maps or other graphic representations of data. Using GIS technology to store, analyse and manage data gathered from field surveys or other sources. Creating maps and other graphics using GIS software to display data visually, e.g. communicating environmental hazards or land use planning. Designing custom maps and graphics for presentations, publications and reports. Advising managers on the best use of GIS technology to support organisational goals. Installing, repairing and maintaining computers and software used for GIS applications. Researching new GIS technology to determine its potential utility within the organisation.
