GIS Operational Analyst

As a GIS Operational Analyst, you will support live natural catastrophe events and help translate satellite imagery and geospatial data into intelligence that helps insurers, governments, and emergency responders act faster during live wildfire and wind events. Responsibilities include activating, verifying, and delivering analysis outputs to customers according to SOPs, quality standards, and SLAs; participating in live operations and real-time NatCat analysis; performing quality checks and documenting errors or outages; following and improving standard processes; managing and reprioritising workload based on changing operational needs; supporting R&D tasks such as testing, feature feedback, and event re-analysis; communicating progress and issues with the team; maintaining accurate records; and participating in a rotating weekend on-call schedule. Requirements include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or a related field; hands-on experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS and remote sensing tools; ability to deliver accurate outputs under time pressure; experience working in structured, process-driven environments; clear written and verbal English communication skills; and a collaborative working style. Nice-to-have experience includes natural catastrophe concepts such as wildfire and wind events, operational roles with defined workflows and SLAs, Python scripting for geospatial or data processing tasks, SAR or radar-based remote sensing data, AI tools, databases, and AWS. The role is based in Espoo, Finland, requires relocation to Finland, and follows a hybrid model of three days per week in the office. Employment is subject to applicable security screening, including SUPO where required.
