About the Role
Company: Gasunie
Title: GIS Project Engineer – Energietransitie Infra (Hybrid)
Gasunie is looking for a GIS Engineer for Projects who supports the design, realization, and delivery of infrastructure projects by providing reliable GIS data. You act as the bridge between project teams, engineering consultancies, and the central GIS organization, delivering directly usable information to all stakeholders.
You will be based in Groningen, working approximately 2 days per week on-site at projects; hybrid working is possible. Your responsibilities include managing ArcGIS Online/Pro to publish datasets and improve data standards, as well as ensuring high-quality, up-to-date geospatial input across infrastructure initiatives—particularly those related to the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
Support infrastructure projects (e.g., hydrogen, CO₂ transport, grid modernization) with GIS analysis, mapping, and spatial data management.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and external consultants to integrate GIS into project workflows.
Maintain and enhance GIS data quality, metadata, and standardization across the organization.
Publish and manage datasets in ArcGIS Online/Pro, ensuring accessibility and consistency for internal and external users.
Contribute to the development of GIS tools, templates, and best practices to improve efficiency and data governance.
Requirements:
Relevant higher professional education (HBO) or university degree in Geomatics, Geodesy, Surveying, or a related field.
Proven experience with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, including data editing, spatial analysis, and web mapping.
Knowledge of energy infrastructure or infrastructure projects is a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical GIS insights into clear, actionable information for non-GIS stakeholders.
Fluent in Dutch; English proficiency is beneficial.
We Offer:
A challenging role in a dynamic, future-oriented organization at the forefront of the energy transition.
Flexible, hybrid working arrangements with opportunities for professional growth.
Competitive salary and benefits, including pension, mobility budget, and personal development opportunities.
