GIS Research Assistant – Remote Sensing, Climate & Agricultural Studies

#### About the Role CodeRize Technologies is looking for a **Research Assistant** to support an ongoing research project focused on **GIS, Remote Sensing, Climate Data and Spatial Analysis** This opportunity is intended for candidates who have a **strong interest in research** and a good foundation in **GIS and geospatial technologies**. The role will provide hands on exposure to academic research, spatial analysis, research documentation and scientific writing. #### Key Responsibilities * Conduct literature reviews and study relevant research papers, journals and scientific publications. * Collect, organise and analyse GIS, remote sensing, climatic, soil and agricultural datasets. * Perform spatial analysis and prepare thematic maps using GIS software. * Process and analyse satellite imagery for agricultural and environmental applications. * Support analysis of rainfall, temperature and other climatic parameters. * Assist with field data collection, ground truthing and validation activities. * Prepare maps, charts, tables and visualisations for research outputs. * Support statistical and spatial analysis of agricultural and climatic variables. * Maintain proper documentation of datasets, methodologies, analysis and findings. * Assist in preparing research reports, research papers, conference papers and PhD thesis chapters. * Assist in developing GIS based models and spatial decision support approaches. * Regularly review new research literature and identify relevant methodologies and research approaches. Required Skills & Background #### **Must Have** * Strong interest in **academic and applied research** * Good understanding of **GIS concepts and spatial analysis** * Working knowledge of **QGIS or ArcGIS** * Basic understanding of **Remote Sensing and satellite imagery** * Ability to work with spatial and tabular datasets * Good research, analytical and problem solving abilities * Ability to read, understand and summarise research papers * Good academic writing and documentation skills * Understanding of research methodology and literature review * Willingness to learn and independently explore research topics **Good to Have** * Background in Geoinformatics, GIS, Geography, Remote Sensing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science or related disciplines * Experience with agricultural or environmental GIS projects * Familiarity with climate datasets and spatial environmental analysis * Experience in academic research, dissertation, thesis or research paper writing Who Should Apply This position is best suited for candidates who are **genuinely interested in research and want to build a career or pursue higher studies in research, GIS, Remote Sensing or related domains**.
