GIS-specialist

As a GIS Specialist at Gemeente Breda, you will create practical geospatial products that provide reliable and current information to municipal colleagues working in policy and operations. Responsibilities include: - Designing and building maps, dashboards, StoryMaps, and GIS applications. - Performing spatial analyses and translating results into useful insights. - Checking GIS products for quality, consistency, and reusability. - Maintaining and updating existing maps and information products. - Supporting colleagues with GIS tools and explaining geospatial concepts clearly. - Coordinating with colleagues on data quality, definitions, and datasets. - Recording metadata and validating geospatial data quality. Requirements include: - MBO+ or HBO working and thinking level in geo-information, Geo-ICT, geography, or a comparable discipline. - One to three years of experience as a GIS Specialist or in a comparable position. - Experience with ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Online. - Experience working with geospatial datasets and map layers. - Experience developing maps, dashboards, or applications. - Familiarity with ArcGIS applications such as StoryMaps, Dashboards, or Experience Builder. - Knowledge of ETL processes, preferably using FME. - Basic scripting knowledge in Python and preferably Arcade. - Knowledge of coordinate systems, projections, and geometry. - Familiarity with Dutch base registrations such as BAG, BGT, and BRK. - Good written and spoken Dutch. The position is within the Data, Information and Research team. The initial appointment is a one-year contract for 32 to 36 hours per week, with the possibility of a permanent contract. A periodic Certificate of Conduct screening is part of the selection process.
