Description:
In the LANAT (Department of Agriculture and Nature), geospatial data plays a crucial role. During the setup phase of the GIS coordination unit, the focus lies on its conceptual and strategic development. In operational terms, the position supports individual LANAT departments with GIS-specific questions, as well as in planning and implementing GIS-related projects—all in close alignment with the cantonal GIS strategy.
The position is organizationally anchored in the Nature Promotion Department.
Your Responsibilities:
Establish and operate the cross-departmental GIS coordination unit at the LANAT level
Coordinate and accompany processes, projects, and activities related to GIS
Provide expert support to departmental units on GIS-related issues and applications
Assist with data analysis, data preparation, and quality assurance
Lead the LANAT Geoinformation Forum and represent LANAT in expert committees
Your Profile:
University or Fachhochschule (FH) degree in engineering, computer science, or geography, with a personal interest in nature and agriculture
Several years of experience using GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS)
Solid knowledge of data management and geospatial infrastructures (GDI)
Teaching skills and prior training in project and process management are desirable
Native German speaker with good spoken French skills
