GIS Specialist

#### **Position Overview** We are seeking a **GIS Specialist** to support the delivery of geospatial data products, spatial analysis, quality assurance, and client-facing GIS solutions at IRIS. The successful candidate will work with field-collected and infrastructure data, support data processing and validation workflows, maintain web maps and dashboards, and help ensure that GIS deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule. This position requires strong technical GIS capabilities as well as attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, and technical teams. #### **Key Responsibilities** * Process, manage, edit, and validate spatial datasets using **ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online**. * Prepare and maintain web maps, hosted feature layers, dashboards, and other GIS applications. * Perform spatial analysis, geoprocessing, data conversion, joins, queries, and attribute-data management. * Conduct **GIS QA/QC** to verify spatial accuracy, attribute completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements. * Process and organize field-collected data, imagery, GPS information, infrastructure inventories, and related datasets. * Support road-patrol, asset-management, inspection, and infrastructure-monitoring projects. * Prepare GIS datasets and deliverables for municipal and other public-sector clients. * Maintain and update project geodatabases, feature services, schemas, domains, and metadata. * Assist with identifying data gaps, inconsistencies, duplicate records, and other quality issues. * Support the configuration and maintenance of client dashboards and reporting tools. * Coordinate with technical and operations teams to ensure GIS outputs meet project specifications and timelines. * Support data integration between GIS platforms and external systems through APIs or structured data-exchange workflows where required. * Document GIS procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of data-processing and QA/QC workflows. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree or diploma in **GIS.** * Demonstrated experience working with **ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online**. * Strong understanding of spatial data, coordinate systems, geodatabases, feature services, and GIS data-management principles. * Experience with GIS editing, spatial analysis, data validation, and QA/QC. * Ability to work with large datasets while maintaining a high level of accuracy. * Strong organizational and analytical skills. * Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities. * Clear written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. **Preferred Qualifications** * ArcGIS FieldMaps & Quick Capture * ArcGIS Dashboards * FME - FME Form & FME Flow (Server) * SQL * REST APIs and GIS system integration * Road condition, transportation, pavement, traffic-sign, or roadway asset datasets * Image-based inspection or automated feature-detection workflows **How to Apply** Please submit your **resume and a brief cover letter** outlining your GIS experience and relevant technical skills to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) If available, candidates may also provide examples of GIS projects, web maps, dashboards, scripts, or other relevant work.
