Title: GIS Specialist (PostGIS + QGIS)
Do you have a passion for working with geospatial information and contributing to high-impact projects?
At NexTReT, we are looking to hire a GIS Programmer for a project related to the management and exploitation of geospatial information for a major public-sector client.
You will join a highly specialized environment where you will work with enterprise GIS technologies, spatial databases, and geographic information integration processes that support decision-making in critical operational scenarios.
We seek a candidate with experience in geospatial data management and processing, to join a team collaborating in the evolution and maintenance of the organization’s geographic information systems.
The selected candidate will be responsible for locating, processing, and managing geospatial data, supporting the corporate GIS architecture, and contributing to the continuous improvement of geographic data exploitation and update processes.
Key Responsibilities
Locate and manage official sources of geospatial information and public data repositories.
Maintain technical inventories of geographic data sources and document information lineage.
Download, validate, and normalize geospatial data to ensure integrity and quality.
Participate in the administration and evolution of PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases.
Load and organize geospatial data into corporate data structures.
Collaborate on ETL workflows and data transfer processes between different environments.
Perform vector and raster geoprocessing tasks for validation, transformation, and data preparation.
Prepare technical reports and improvement proposals related to geospatial data management and exploitation.
Analyze technical incidents and collaborate in defining operational solutions and improvements.
What We Offer

Location: Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid, Spain).
Work modality: On-site (presential).
Salary: €35,000–€39,000 gross annually, depending on experience and skills.
Annual working hours: 1,700.
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 8 hours per day.
Friday: 7 hours.
Intensified schedule during July to September.

Requirements
Minimum Experience: 2–4 years in managing corporate spatial databases, ingestion of heterogeneous geospatial data, and designing ETL/geoprocessing workflows.
Technical Skills:
* Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL/PostGIS (data modeling, schema creation, spatial SQL queries, spatial indexing with GIST/SP-GiST).
* Advanced command of vector and raster geoprocessing (QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, GDAL/OGR) for normalization, reprojection, and topological validation.
* In-depth knowledge of national and international Spatial Data Infrastructures (IDEs) (e.g., IGN, PNOA, Copernicus, WMS/WFS/WMTS, Cadastre) and corporate formats (GeoPackage, PostGIS, Shapefile, GeoJSON, COG).
