GIS Technician

Role summary / purpose Full-time hybrid position (3 days/week in office). Based out of either Cincinnati or Plainfield, IN. Key responsibilities Maintain and support the company's GIS system by posting, updating, and maintaining utility asset data for electric distribution. Review design drawings, maps, plats, redlines, and related documentation and accurately model those assets in GIS. Gather, analyze, and maintain geospatial data used as the utility system's system of record. Identify, analyze, and resolve GIS data issues and discrepancies. Perform QA/QC activities to ensure GIS data accuracy and completeness. Correct data quality errors and verify compliance with GIS business rules and standards. Communicate with Work Order Owners, Designers, Engineers, and Field personnel to obtain missing information. Requirements - education & experience Minimum 2 years GIS experience required. Nice-to-have / preferred skills Strong background and demonstrated experience in ESRI products. Experience in Smallworld. Utility industry experience. GIS or related technical degree.
