GIS Technician

Job Description Assist in the preparation, processing, and updating of GIS data for various projects. Perform digitizing, georeferencing, data encoding, editing, and attribute data management. Assist in processing and organizing spatial and non-spatial data. Prepare maps, layouts, and other GIS-related outputs based on project requirements. Assist in the integration and processing of survey and field data into GIS platforms. Conduct field data gathering, site verification, and GPS/GNSS-based data collection when required. Assist in analyzing and validating spatial data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with Geodetic Engineers, engineers, project staff, and other field personnel regarding GIS and mapping requirements. Maintain proper organization, documentation, and filing of GIS datasets and project outputs. Assist in project mobilization, fieldwork, and other technical requirements as needed. Ensure compliance with project specifications, data standards, safety protocols, and company procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Geodetic Engineering or a related field. Must be a Licensed Geodetic Engineer . No prior work experience required. Basic knowledge of GIS concepts, mapping, and spatial data is an advantage. Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar applications is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of GPS/GNSS data collection and surveying is an advantage. Willing to undergo training and learn GIS-related software and workflows. Willing to perform fieldwork and travel to project sites when necessary. Detail-oriented and able to work accurately with spatial and attribute data. Good analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Able to work under minimal supervision and meet project deadlines.
