GIS Technician - Research Analyst St Paul, Minnesota (Onsite) $28.50 - $41.20 per hour | State Benefits State of Minnesota - Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking a GIS Technician - Research Analyst to join our central planning and facilities team in St Paul. DCT operates state specialized behavioral health, substance use, and developmental disability facilities across Minnesota. In this role, you will perform spatial analysis, maintain facility campus GIS mapping, analyze service coverage gaps, and construct demographic mapping to support state healthcare service planning. Key Responsibilities: Facility GIS Administration: Maintain state facility spatial geodatabase, building footprints, land parcels, and utility infrastructure in ArcGIS Pro / Enterprise. Service Area Analysis: Conduct spatial buffer and network analysis to evaluate patient travel times and service accessibility across Minnesota counties. Demographic Mapping: Integrate US Census demographic data and state health metrics using ArcGIS Pro, R, or Python to produce legislative map reports. Map Production: Design high-quality thematic maps and web dashboards for agency leadership and state commissioners. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Urban Planning, or related field. 2+ years professional experience using Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. Proficiency with spatial analysis tools, data joins, geocoding, and map design. Experience handling public health or government demographic datasets is desirable.
