About the Role
The GIS Asset Systems Specialist plays a key role in supporting the digital transformation and asset optimisation strategy at Jersey Electricity. The role is responsible for developing and improving the organisation's Digital Twin capability by integrating GIS, infrastructure administration and electrical network simulation platforms.
This role works across multiple business functions to manage, integrate, and govern infrastructure, connectivity, and spatial information optimally. It enables informed decision making, improved operational performance, enhanced network resilience, and effective investment planning.
Digital Twin Development And Delivery
Support the development and deployment of Jersey Electricity's Digital Twin strategy and architecture.
Assist in the successful delivery and adoption of Digital Twin capabilities across the business.
Ensure Digital Twin solutions align with business objectives, digital transformation initiatives and long-term organisational goals.
Systems Coordination And Data Oversight
Develop and maintain integration frameworks between ArcGIS, Octave EAM, PowerFactory and other business systems.
Enable the seamless exchange of asset, network and geospatial data across platforms.
Establish and maintain data standards, governance processes and harmonised asset data models.
Help build and maintain a single source of trusted equipment and connectivity information.
Technical Leadership And Collaboration
Provide specialist expertise across geographic information systems, asset tracking platforms, and network modelling tools.
Work closely with Asset Coordination, Engineering, Operations, Technology and Service Delivery teams to ensure consistent and effective digital solutions.
Support the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve business processes and system capability.
Act as a key liaison between internal collaborators and external technology partners.
Asset And Network Optimisation
Support investment planning, asset lifecycle management and network resilience initiatives through improved data quality and system integration.
Enable data-driven business decisions through effective reporting, analysis and visualisation capabilities.
Ensure systems remain scalable, secure, resilient and aligned with future business requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Monitor emerging technologies and industry standard process in Digital Twin, GIS and asset management disciplines.
Find opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer outcomes and organisational performance.
Contribute to the ongoing development of JE's digital capability and strategic objectives.
Technical Knowledge
Digital Twin concepts, architecture and implementation.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ideally ArcGIS Utility Network.
Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
Power system modelling and network analysis tools, including PowerFactory.
Data architecture, systems integration and interoperability.
Master data management and data governance principles.
Asset management and infrastructure lifecycle management practices.
Data analytics, reporting and visualisation techniques.
Experience
Proven involvement with GIS, asset management, engineering systems or related enterprise platforms.
Experience supporting system integration and data management initiatives within an asset-intensive environment.
Experience working with multi-functional collaborators to deliver business and technology solutions.
Experience in contributing to digital transformation or business improvement programmes.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Asset Management or a related field.
Professional training or certification in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
GIS Utility Network technology
Digital Twin technologies
Grid digitalisation and smart network planning
Data management or information governance
