About the Role

Position Overview GreenVest seeks a GIS/CAD Specialist to support the Company’s expanding portfolio of ecological restoration, stormwater management, environmental resiliency, and compensatory mitigation projects. The successful candidate will serve as a technical lead ensuring that GreenVest’s design plan sets, spatial analyses, mapping products, and datasets are accurate, informative, and strategically applied to support project conception, permitting, design, construction, and monitoring. The GIS/CAD Specialist will be responsible for plan set development, geospatial data acquisition and management, map production, spatial analyses, technical analysis, market intelligence gathering, and site suitability assessments. The primary objective is to leverage GIS and CAD production to identify viable project opportunities, advance conceptual designs, and develop takeoffs and quantities to evaluate feasibility, inform project cost, and help GreenVest secure and deliver innovative and impactful environmental projects. Key Responsibilities: Conducting suitability and feasibility analyses for land acquisition, wetland and stream restoration potential, stormwater management, ecological and habitat uplift, and environmental resiliency opportunities. Developing conceptual and preliminary CAD plans and drawings that establish the technical basis for stormwater and restoration designs, inform feasibility, and support project cost estimation. Producing visually appealing and informative GIS maps, datasets, spatial analyses, and standardized figures to support project development, permitting, design, construction, and monitoring. Performing detailed site assessments using land cover datasets, hydrology/drainage area delineations, soils and floodplain data, DEM/LIDAR derivatives, and other related data and tools. Ensuring all GIS and CAD deliverables meet industry, regulatory, and internal graphic/presentation standards for accuracy and clarity. Gathering, organizing, and synthesizing environmental, regulatory, and market-related spatial datasets to support strategic opportunity targeting and market demand assessment. Building, maintaining, and enhancing company datasets to improve workflow efficiency. Automating data management and map production processes. Collaborating with project managers, ecologists, engineers, and business development staff to ensure GIS and CAD products inform strategic decision-making. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Water Resources, Planning, or other related discipline. 5+ years of GIS and CAD experience in ecological restoration, stream/wetland restoration, stormwater, or other related industries. Strong technical competency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Model Builder, and data conversion between GIS and CAD. Strong technical background and knowledge of ecosystem restoration, water quality trading, TMDL/IAT credit calculations, stormwater management, and compensatory mitigation frameworks. Strong visual design sense to create GIS/CAD products that clearly convey data-driven information to end users. Strong communication skills, and ability to produce clear, publication-quality maps and plans. Ability to work independently and self-manage multiple deadlines. Preferred Skills & Experience Experience with Python or other programming languages to automate workflows and efficiently process large-scale vector and raster datasets on watershed scales. Knowledge in TMDL, IAT, Stream Restoration Protocols, and stormwater crediting frameworks. Familiarity with stream restoration, wetland restoration, and/or stormwater management design.
