About the Role

Role Summary The GIS Analyst (Entry-Level) supports the development, maintenance, analysis, and visualization of geospatial data to help business and operational teams make informed decisions. The role involves working with geographic information systems (GIS), spatial databases, maps, and related technologies to collect, manage, analyze, and present geographic information. The analyst will collaborate with team members to ensure data quality, produce mapping products, and support ongoing GIS projects and business initiatives. About The Team The GIS team is responsible for managing geospatial data, developing mapping solutions, and providing spatial analysis services that support business operations, planning, asset management, and decision-making. The team supports GIS applications, spatial databases, web mapping platforms, and geospatial data services used across the organization. Team members work closely with engineering, operations, environmental, land, and IT stakeholders to deliver accurate and reliable geographic information. The team operates in a collaborative environment where analysts, developers, and business users work together to maintain geospatial systems, improve workflows, and deliver value through spatial intelligence. Key Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain GIS datasets, maps, and spatial databases. Perform spatial data analysis and produce reports, maps, and visualizations. Collect, validate, clean, and integrate geographic and attribute data from various sources. Support GIS applications and assist users with geospatial data requests. Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of GIS information. Assist with the development and maintenance of web maps, dashboards, and GIS tools. Document GIS workflows, procedures, and data standards. Support testing, validation, and implementation of GIS solutions and enhancements. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver geospatial solutions. Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Education Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (completed Or In Progress) In Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Geography Geomatics Cartography Surveying Geoinformatics Environmental Sciences Computer Science Engineering Or a related discipline Technical Skills Basic understanding of GIS principles, spatial data models, coordinate systems, and cartography. Experience with GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or QGIS. Basic knowledge of spatial databases and geospatial data formats (Shapefile, GeoJSON, Geodatabase, KML, etc.). Familiarity with GPS data collection and geospatial data management practices. Basic understanding of web mapping concepts and GIS web services. Ability to create and interpret maps, charts, and geographic reports Soft Skills Analytical thinking Willingness to learn Responsibility Attention to detail Language Kazakh English Russian Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have) Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, or Arcade scripting. Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Experience Builder, Survey123, Field Maps, or Dashboards. Knowledge of remote sensing and satellite imagery analysis. Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar). Basic understanding of geospatial data standards and metadata management.
