About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior LiDAR Engineer to join our geospatial and mapping team. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of LiDAR data processing and a strong understanding of MicroStation software (mandatory). This role involves processing, analyzing, and managing LiDAR datasets to support surveying, mapping, infrastructure, and engineering projects. Key Responsibilities • Process and classify LiDAR point cloud data using industry-standard workflows and software. • Utilize MicroStation for data visualization, drafting, editing, and feature extraction. • Generate and maintain topographic maps, digital terrain models (DTMs), digital surface models (DSMs), and 3D deliverables. • Perform quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) checks on LiDAR datasets and project outputs. • Extract terrain, utility, road, building, and other features from LiDAR and geospatial data. • Collaborate with surveyors, GIS specialists, engineers, and project managers to meet project requirements. • Maintain project documentation and ensure adherence to company standards and client specifications. • Assist in data conversion, coordinate system management, and geospatial database updates. • Support senior engineers in project execution and technical analysis. Required Qualifications • Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent qualification in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, GIS, Remote Sensing, or a related field. • Mandatory proficiency in MicroStation software. • Basic understanding of LiDAR technology, point cloud processing, and geospatial data management. • Knowledge of coordinate systems, projections, and surveying principles. • Familiarity with CAD and GIS concepts. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with LiDAR processing software such as TerraScan, TerraModeler, Global Mapper, LP360, or similar tools. • Knowledge of GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS. • Understanding of photogrammetry and remote sensing concepts. • Internship or project experience related to LiDAR, mapping, or surveying.
