About the Role
Vantor is forging the new frontier of spatial intelligence, helping decision makers and operators navigate what’s happening now and shape what’s coming next. Vantor is a place for problem solvers, changemakers, and go-getters—where people are working together to help our customers see the world differently, and in doing so, be seen differently. Come be part of a mission, not just a job, where you can: Shape your own future, build the next big thing, and change the world.
Please review the job details below.
We are searching for the best and brightest to join a culture that is open and flexible, inclusive and positive. At Vantor, you’ll get the chance to grow, develop your skills, and collaborate with talented people who make a real difference for our clients worldwide.
From our R&D hub in Linköping, with around 80 engineers, we develop cutting-edge technology to deliver unparalleled, global, and precise 3D geospatial data and software.
Below is one of the master’s thesis projects currently available. In addition to this specific topic, there may be opportunities for other or additional thesis projects within
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Image Processing and/or Computer Vision, Data Science
, or other relevant technical fields.
We always shape the thesis projects together with the students and welcome both individual thesis work and projects carried out in pairs with another thesis student.
About The Thesis Project
This thesis explores how to combine multiple satellite data sources to improve analysis and understanding of the Earth’s surface.
You Will Work With
Very High Resolution (VHR) imagery (30–50 cm, lower temporal frequency), primarily from Vantor
Medium-resolution imagery (~10 m, higher temporal frequency), such as Sentinel
Vantor’s 3D Globe and derived data
The work includes designing, implementing, and evaluating algorithms—likely using state-of-the-art machine learning and AI.
Depending on your interests and background, the thesis can focus on one of the following application areas:
Change detection and monitoring, e.g. urban development, road changes, or deforestation
Vegetation segmentation, e.g. segmentation and classification of trees, wetlands, or other vegetation types
The exact scope will be defined together with the selected candidate.
Who You Are
Master’s student in image processing, computer vision, or a related field
Interested in algorithm development and software engineering
Experience or interest in machine learning/AI is a plus
What We Offer
Hands-on experience with cutting-edge geospatial technology
A supportive, innovative, and inclusive work environment
The opportunity to contribute to research with real-world impact in Earth observation
The project will be carried out on location at Vantor’s office in Linköping, Sweden.
