You will join the Magellium Paris activity, which defines, designs, implements, deploys, and ensures the operational maintenance of IT and GIS systems for enterprise DSI, local authorities, and government agencies across all IT applications.
Your Mission
As part of our growth in geomatics and geographic information systems (GIS), we are recruiting an Open Source Web GIS Developer Engineer to join our Paris team.
You will work on a strategic project for a major player in the energy transition, focusing on the design, evolution, and maintenance of a dedicated GIS platform for managing and valorizing geographic and energy asset data.
Within a team of GIS experts, you will participate in the design and evolution of a modern web mapping solution, built on open-source technologies.
Your Responsibilities
Depending on your experience and interests, your responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing GIS web applications and services
Evolving and customizing cartographic interfaces and business functionalities
Implementing and evolving OGC geographic services (WMS, WFS, WCS…)
Configuring, administering, and optimizing GeoServer
Developing and integrating features in MapStore
Managing and valorizing geographic data in PostgreSQL / PostGIS environments
Developing scripts and tools for GIS process automation, especially in Python
Implementing processing to improve data quality, reliability, and performance
Analyzing and resolving technical issues related to data, geographic services, and GIS architecture
Contributing to the industrialization and continuous improvement of the platform
Participating in the design, development, integration, and maintenance phases of the solution
You may also be involved in the GeoNode / GeoOrchestra ecosystem and more broadly across various components of the Open Source GIS ecosystem.

Profile Sought
Education: Master’s level (Bac+5) in geomatics, computer science, GIS, or equivalent
Experience: Ideally minimum 3–5 years in GIS, geomatics, or web mapping development projects
Proven experience with Open Source GIS environments, particularly with GeoServer, PostGIS, and/or web mapping solutions such as MapStore, GeoNode, or GeoOrchestra
Strong interest in issues at the intersection of software development, geographic data, and business requirements
Curious, autonomous, with strong analytical skills—able to understand complex issues and build robust, sustainable solutions
Proficiency in English, especially in technical contexts, is appreciated
