OSP Technician

Job Description: Create detailed technical drawings, route maps, and design packages for OSP telecommunications infrastructure including fiber optic cable routes, conduit systems, pole placements, and splice schematics Translate field notes, sketches, and survey data into accurate CAD and GIS deliverables using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS platforms Draft permit drawings, traffic control plans, base maps, and as-built documentation for submission to municipalities, state DOTs, and other permitting authorities Develop splice schematics, fiber assignment diagrams, and conduit/cable design drawings for aerial, buried, and underground OSP environments Update and maintain plant maps, GIS databases, and engineering records to reflect current network conditions and post-construction changes Coordinate with OSP Engineers and Project managers to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent and support constructability in the field Support permitting efforts by preparing ROW, encroachment, railroad, and traffic control plan packages per jurisdiction requirements Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and client standards prior to QC submission Qualifications: Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in OSP drafting and as a technician. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required. Must have an associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field. Must have strong attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced environment
