Product Designer – Maps

Job Description At Yiino, maps are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Maps Design Team , a group of product designers, cartographers, and design engineers focused on making every point to point journey seamless, efficient, and intuitive. In this role, your work will directly shape the way millions of people and goods move every day across Africa. Job Responsibilities What You’ll Do Design the future of maps at Yiino: Use design thinking to envision and deliver next-generation map experiences across Rider, Partner, and OnDemand RidePool, Delivery apps. Build intuitive interfaces: Craft clear, user-friendly navigation and map interactions that make complex journeys feel effortless. Advance Yiino’s design system: Create and refine map-based components that scale across platforms and experiences. Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to bring designs from concept to reality. Influence at scale: Present and pitch your work in design reviews, championing high-quality, impactful solutions that improve millions of daily journeys. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in product design with strong foundations in interaction and visual design. Hands-on experience designing maps, navigation flows, or spatial interfaces. A portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end product thinking, from research and ideation through polished execution. Bonus points if you have Experience designing cartographic base maps or using tools like Mapbox. Passion for maps, navigation, and cartography. Familiarity with GIS or spatial analysis.
