Role Description
We support clients through all phases of GIS and database projects—from initial analysis and planning, via software development, to operational deployment. Our service portfolio includes GIS for complex system landscapes, custom WebGIS solutions, tailored OpenStreetMap maps, mobile applications, and municipal geoportals.
We are over 60 WhereGroupies from diverse disciplines, spread across our offices in Bonn (headquarters), Berlin, Freiburg, and Hamburg. In our teams, you’ll collaboratively shape and implement diverse projects on equal footing. Teamwork is truly lived here—we support each other and continuously learn together.
QGIS Developer (m/f/d)
For our offices in Bonn, Berlin, and Freiburg, with the option of deployment in Hamburg or hybrid work.
What awaits you:
Plan and develop GIS solutions with our clients based on QGIS.
Work on challenging GIS projects on exciting topics such as renewable energy expansion and infrastructure development.
Support clients in replacing proprietary software with open-source solutions and ensure digital sovereignty for projects.
Contribute to concept development and implement solutions.
Support the development, optimization, and maintenance of code.
Take responsibility for implementing modules.
Work in agile project teams and help ensure team success.
Support teams in project execution, testing, and quality assurance.
Our QGIS team’s tech stack primarily includes:
Python, PyQGIS, PostgreSQL, PostGIS.
Who we’re looking for:
Several years of practical experience working with QGIS and customizing QGIS.
Solid software development skills in Python and PyQGIS.
Strong knowledge of QGIS configuration and QGIS plugin development.
Completed vocational training or university degree in natural sciences, engineering, IT, or a related field.
Initiative and self-motivation.
Excellent command of German and English.
