About the Role
PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
The Security Data & Geographic Superintendent is responsible for the collection, structuring, analysis, and visualization of security-related data, with a strong focus on geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) and data driven decision-making. The role supports the Director Threat & Risk Intelligence by transforming fragmented information (incidents, ASM activity, threats, socio-political dynamics) into actionable insights, predictive analytics, and strategic intelligence products to support operational and executive decision-making across the Group. This position is a key pillar of the Security digital transformation (SOC / OSINT / GIS integration) and contributes to the development of a data-driven Security Management System (SMS).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Security Data Management & Governance
Design and implement a centralized security data architecture (incident reporting, ASM activity, social unrest, threat intelligence).
Ensure data integrity, standardization, and quality control across all sites and regions.
Develop and maintain data collection frameworks and reporting protocols aligned with Group standards.
Act as the custodian of security data governance, including access, confidentiality, and compliance.
Geospatial Intelligence (GIS / GEOINT)
Develop and manage GIS-based mapping systems for:
Illegal mining (ASM) expansion and hotspots
Security incidents and trends
Community dynamics and risk exposure
Critical infrastructure vulnerability mapping
Produce dynamic dashboards and geospatial risk maps for operational and executive use.
Integrate satellite imagery, drone data, and external geospatial datasets where relevant.
Threat & Risk Intelligence Support
Support the Director Threat & Risk Intelligence in building country and site risk models using data-driven methodologies.
Identify patterns, trends, and early warning indicators related to:
Political instability
Criminal activity
Community-related tensions
ASM encroachment
Contribute to the production of:
Weekly and monthly risk assessments
Strategic intelligence reports for COMEX
Scenario analysis and forward-looking risk outlooks
Digital Tools & SOC Integration
Support the development and operation of the Security Operations Center (SOC) from a data and analytics perspective.
Implement and manage digital tools and platforms:
Incident management systems
OSINT / SOCMINT platforms
GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
Drive automation of data reporting, alerts, and dashboards.
Performance Management & KPIs
Develop and track Security data KPIs, including:
Incident frequency and severity
Response times
ASM dynamics (volume, location, trends)
Produce data-driven performance dashboards for:
Sites
Regions
Executive Committee (COMEX)
F. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
Security Operations
Public Affairs / Social Performance
Exploration teams
IT / Digital teams
Support M&A due diligence with geospatial and data analytics inputs.
Contribute to VPSHR compliance through data transparency and traceability.

Key Competencies:
Degree in Geography, Data Science, GIS, Intelligence, Security Studies, or related field
Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in: Security intelligence
Data analytics
GIS / geospatial analysis
Experience in mining, energy, or high-risk environments strongly preferred
Proven experience in multinational and complex environments (Africa preferred)
