About the Role

Senior GIS Support Engineer TriJem33 Consulting LLC · Con Edison — Enterprise GIS · New York (3 days on site, 2 days remote, Brooklyn) TriJem33 Consulting LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior GIS Support Engineer to support mission-critical enterprise GIS systems for a major utility environment in New York. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional who thrives in complex enterprise ecosystems and enjoys solving challenging GIS infrastructure, integration, and support problems. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, enterprise geodatabases, map services, automation, and GIS platform support, gained specifically within a regulated utility environment. This individual must be equally comfortable troubleshooting backend systems, publishing services, presenting technical solutions to leadership, and collaborating with business stakeholders across Electric and Gas utility operations. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent technical documentation abilities, crafting business and leadership presentations, and the capacity to support highly available enterprise GIS platforms serving thousands of internal users. Minimum Requirements — All Mandatory Candidates must meet every one of the following four requirements to be considered. These are hard gates; applications that do not clearly evidence all four will not advance. 1. Enterprise ESRI GIS support (8+ yrs). 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting and administering ESRI GIS platforms in an enterprise production environment — in a platform support / administration capacity, not primarily analyst, data-editing, or application-development work. 2. ArcGIS Enterprise stack + Oracle. Extensive, hands-on administration of the full ArcGIS Enterprise stack (ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Web Adaptor), including publishing and maintaining GIS map services, AND hands-on work with Oracle enterprise geodatabases / ArcSDE — including geodatabase compression, versioning, and reconcile/post. Oracle experience is required; SQL Server-only experience does not satisfy this requirement. 3. APR / LRS (extensive, current, ESRI). Extensive, current, hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR) or an Esri Linear Referencing System (LRS) / Roads & Highways — on the ESRI platform. General linear-referencing analysis, or LRS experience on non-ESRI platforms (e.g., GeoMedia), does not satisfy this requirement on its own. 4. Regulated-utility domain. Direct, hands-on GIS experience within a regulated utility environment — electric, gas, or water (e.g., Con Edison, PG&E, SDG&E, SCE, National Grid, or a comparable utility). Infrastructure-adjacent, transportation/DOT, or non-utility enterprise experience does not satisfy this requirement. Additional Required Experience Experience performing geodatabase compressions and database maintenance. Hands-on scripting experience with ArcPy / Python; PowerShell and SQL / PL-SQL. Experience with Windows Server 2016 / 2019 environments. Experience publishing and maintaining map services, feature services, tile caches, and mobile TPKs for desktop, web, and mobile GIS users. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced utility environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities. Ability to work independently and support highly available platforms serving thousands of internal users. Strongly Preferred ArcFM (Desktop / Web / Mobile) experience supporting utility GIS applications — strongly preferred and a significant advantage. ArcGIS Utility Network experience, FME, ArcGIS Experience Builder. Familiarity with Azure or hybrid cloud GIS deployments. Key Responsibilities Enterprise GIS Platform Administration & Support Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise environments — ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, Web Adaptors, and ArcGIS Online integrations. Publish, configure, and maintain map services, feature services, tile caches, and mobile TPKs for desktop, web, and mobile GIS users. Support and troubleshoot ArcFM Desktop, Web, Mobile, and related utility GIS applications. Maintain system stability, monitor GIS services, and proactively address platform performance issues. Automation & Technical Engineering Develop and maintain automation scripts using ArcPy (Python), PowerShell, and SQL / PL-SQL. Automate maintenance, monitoring, deployment, and operational support tasks; support backend GIS integrations and enterprise workflows. Solution Design & Technical Leadership Architect and recommend GIS support solutions for enterprise operational needs. Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and leadership to improve GIS workflows and platform reliability. Create technical presentations and communicate complex GIS concepts to technical and non-technical audiences; mentor junior team members. Incident Management & Documentation Troubleshoot GIS platform outages, service interruptions, and application issues. Document support procedures, outage recovery processes, maintenance activities, and technical configurations; improve operational support processes and system resiliency. Work Environment Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Brooklyn, NY + 2 days remote. Flexible hours may occasionally be required to support production deployments, upgrades, maintenance windows, and outage recovery activities. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.
