Senior FTTH Network Planner

We're representing a fibre business that needs a final quality gatekeeper to take control of their network planning standards. This is not a junior drafting role. You will be fixing complex GIS records, holding contractors accountable, and mentoring a team of junior planners. The salary ranges from R480,000 to R750,000 per annum depending on experience. It is a full-time, office-based position that includes remote work flexibility. What is in it for you? Authority: You serve as the final escalation point for identifying specification non-conformances like routing, plant placement, and splitter hierarchy. Leadership: You will mentor junior Network Planners and raise the standard of drawing literacy and spatial data accuracy across the team. Design control: Step in to originate complex network designs when contractor plans fall short or bespoke internal designs are required. Process ownership: You drive continuous improvement in network planning processes and deliver executive reporting on match rates and compliance. The day to day Lead the review and approval of complex FTTH plans submitted by contractors against build specifications. Oversee the upload and management of approved plans in VetroFibre Map to ensure accurate geometry and layering. Audit the reconciliation of authorised plans against contractor as-builts to account for route changes or missing plant. Take authoritative action on incomplete, late, or poor quality monthly as-built submissions from contractors. Collaborate with field, Maintenance, and NOC teams to correct GIS errors and maintain live network records. What You Need To Bring 5 to 8 years of experience in FTTH plan review, GIS capture, and as-built quality assurance. Expert understanding of GPON FTTH architecture, covering OLT, feeder, distribution, splitters, closures, and drops. Expert proficiency in VetroFibre Map and advanced capability in premises data capturing. The ability to interpret complex contractor spatial packs across CAD, shapefile, KML/KMZ, and PDF formats. The willingness to travel for critical site verifications and work extended hours when major deadlines hit.
